Here's a Secret...

YOU are the Mission!

Each week, Lighthouse Mission runs 10 Mobile Food Outreaches, several after-school programs for local teens, and during the school year, the Saturday Mission Kids program for young children.

Lighthouse Mission's pastors and missionary staff love to serve, but they can't do all of the work by themselves. That's why we love to partner with passionate, dedicated volunteers from across Long Island who have hearts to serve.

There are many different ways that you can volunteer with Lighthouse Mission. Whether you have just one free hour a week, or an open schedule, we can use your help! Scroll down below to see some of the opportunities that are available.

Do you need to do COMMUNITY SERVICE  for your School, Work, Club or any other reason?
You have found the right place! The Lighthouse Mission needs help in many areas of serving the community: You may be assigned to work in our warehouse, perhaps cleaning our community room, sorting some donated clothing, filling our pantry shelves or even to help hand out food to people in need etc.
In addition, we will provide you (upon request) with an "HOURS OF COMPLETION LETTER" verifying the accomplishment of your community service hours.

Have a Group of Volunteers from your church, school, or business? We love to partner with local community groups to serve our neighbors in need.

And the King will say, "I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me."
(Matthew 25:40)

Individual Volunteers

Volunteer at Outreach

What is an Outreach Like?

Lighthouse Mission's Food Outreaches bring food and the hope of Jesus to our neighbors in need across nine communities each week. We bring a box truck of food to each location, share a brief Gospel message, and then distribute the food to anyone in need.

At these outreaches, Lighthouse Mission gives out donated groceries, including: canned goods, pastas, breads, fresh produce and meats (when available), and other emergency food and clothing items.

What Sort of Volunteers are Needed?

While we welcome any members of the community to serve with us, we especially need volunteers who are willing to serve outdoors in occasionally severe weather. Some volunteers may be asked to lift heavy items. We also are in need of volunteers who can serve on weekday afternoons.

Volunteer with Teens

What are Lighthouse Mission's Teen Programs?

Lighthouse Mission's after-school programs for teens aim to reach "at-risk" teens through Bible lessons, sports, outdoor activities, and more.

God has positioned the Lighthouse Mission in North Bellport to reach some of the most vulnerable teens with the Good News of Jesus. We hope to see their lives transformed through relationships with mature, Christian volunteers.

What Sort of Volunteers are Needed?

We need mature adult volunteers who are willing to commit to after-school programs with Middle School (Wednesdays) & High School (Tuesdays) students on a weekly basis.

People who have a passion to work with teenagers, and don't mind playing rough sports like basketball are especially needed.

Volunteer at Mission Kids

What is Mission Kids?

Mission Kids is a FREE Saturday Program for local children in need, grades K-5. Through Bible-based character lessons, crafts, games, and guest performers, we teach these kids how to deal with life's problems without turning to drugs, alcohol, or gangs.

Many of the children who attend the program come from local homeless shelters and broken homes. Mission Kids

is a place where they can feel safe, welcome, and loved.

What Sort of Volunteers are Needed?

We need mature adult volunteers who are willing to commit to a Saturday morning program twice a month during the school year. People who love to work with young children are especially needed.

**Volunteers must register with our Mission Kids Director in advance, and will have to undergo a background check.
