What We Believe

The Scriptures
We believe the original writings of the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in all they teach. They are the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of men and the final authority for all matters of Christian faith and life.
(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Trinity
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Person of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly human, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and is now our High Priest.
(John 1:14; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 2:14-17; 1 Corinthians 15:1-28)
The Nature of Man
We believe that man was created in God's image, but fell into sin and is now lost and in need of reconciliation with God and regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation.
(Gen. 1:27; Gen. 3:17-19; Romans 3:9-18; Eph. 2:1-3)

The Salvation of Man
We believe that man's redemption was accomplished by the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross to atone for our sins. This is available as a free gift of God to all who repent and believe in Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
(Lk. 24:45-49; John 3:13-21; John 1:9-13; Gal 3:26-29; 1 John 5:12)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict men of sin, regenerate those who believe, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the Christian for godly living and service. The Holy Spirit works differently in the life of each Christian.
(John 16:7-15; Eph 1:13-14; Rom 8:14-17, 26-27; 1 Cor. 12:11-14)
The Church
We believe the Church to be composed of all who are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The church exists to participate in the spread of the Gospel and to help believers grow as followers of Christ.
(Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8-9; Titus 2:11-14)

The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Lk 12:35-40; Lk. 17:20-30; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thess 4:13-18)
The Last Judgment
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness with the Lord, and of those who reject Christ to eternal punishment.
(Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 20:10-15; Rev. 21:1-8)
